8/01/2006 - Updated resume

Updated versions of my resumes for a position as Senior/Lead Simulation Software Engineer and Senior Game Developer are now available. A small portfolio (2 MB) illustrating selected samples of past projects can be downloaded as well. Microsoft Word is required to open all three documents.

3/01/2005 - Too much work

I received some comments lately pertaining the lack of updates on this website. Unfortunately, I was too busy during the past weeks to do any private work at all. I updated the photo gallery and finally managed to put up a public personal datasheet in the 'About' section. A lot of different things were going on lately. I moved to Orlando, Florida, and I have a new employer. Everything is getting more relaxed now and I'll soon be able to work on private projects again.

I got many requests about the status of the Flowershop. Unfortunately, I had to put the development of this software on hold for a while because there are more important projects in the works right now. There is no release date whatsover, but I'm planning to continue development as soon as it makes sense, maybe even in the form of an open source project. My main focus right now is gaming technology and reverse engineering of file formats, so expect some updates on that in the near future.

6/03/2004 - Kana flashcard game

While trying to learn the japanese language, I created a small JavaScript based flashcard game to practice Kana symbols. I spent some extra time to wrap around a small website and to put it online. There are already quite a lot of flashcard games available, but this one doesn't look ugly, it has cool features, it includes a complete reference chart for both Hiragana and Katakana, it works in a normal web browser, and best of all: it's FREE!

6/01/2004 - Gratisakku.de online

Last week I released a new website for one of my clients. It's a small online form to order free batteries for popular cellphones from Nokia, Siemens and others - you only pay shipping and handling - nothing else! So if you're in the need of a new battery, but running a little low on cash, make sure to check it out. (Too bad that this special offer is only available to german customers at the moment)

5/09/2004 - TekEx 1.1 released

About 9 months ago, my gaming clan was in the need to create custom patches for the game 'Mechwarrior 4' that would allow us to replace certain aspects of the game graphics (such as hud, radar, map grids). As a result, I reverse engineered the file format of MekTek .tek files, and wrote 'TekEx' to extract data from those patch archives. I'm now releasing this small tool to the public, in the hope that it might be usefull to someone else. Check the download section for more info.

4/26/2004 - Spam and viruses

With the increasing amount of spam and virus emails (I'm filtering up to 2000 per day), I recently recieved some complaints about malicious emails that were apparently sent under my email account, or that contained references to this website's domain. Please note that the 'reply-to' email field can easily be faked and is therefore not a reliable indicator for who sent you an email. I did not and do not send any spam emails. To verify whether or not i was the originator of an email, please check the email header. My email traffic always goes through 'mail.variomedia.de'. Emails that went through a different mail server are faked.

4/01/2004 - Vacation in Orlando

I'm taking a few days off in order to have vacation in Orlando. The weather is currently pretty nice, but besides a whole bunch of theme parks there's not really much to see here. I'll be back on station by the end of April.

3/15/2004 - Gunique 1.0 released

Gunique is a small tool to convert Global Unique Identifiers (GUID) to human readable names, and vice versa. GUIDs are used in many different places in Windows, especially in COM, OLE and ActiveX. Gunique is also able to display the Running Objects Table (ROT), and it provides a tool to generate (using Win API) and convert GUIDs to hex strings. No guarantee that this works under Win 95/98. More info in the download section.

3/14/2004 - UnZip Wrapper for Delphi

Since I have some more freetime now, I decided to revamp and release various tools and source codes during the next days and weeks. The first package is a Delphi wrapper for the InfoZIP UnZip library that allows you to use basic unzip functionalities from within your Delphi program. See the download section for more info. I also fixed some download links that were broken due to webserver relocation.

2/05/2004 - Looking for a fulltime job

Last week I successfully defended my master thesis. Therefore I am a master of computer science now and my time as a student is as good as over. Now I'll take a couple of days off in order to relax and to look for a challenging R&D job in the IT business. So if your company is looking for an experienced software engineer with outstanding programming skills, excelent team work and communication skills, as well as a strong background in computer science, please feel free to make me an offer.

1/17/2004 - v4 hits the world wide web

Time for a new homepage again. Originally, I planned to release this version as a Flash-only website. However, I realized that there are too many people who don't like Flash, so I converted everything to HTML and CSS and upgraded it to version 4. This design was sleeping on my hard disk for over a year. Unfortunately, I was too busy to keep working on this project and disappeard from the world wide web for several months. But now I'm back and the site is finally done.

Hope you also like the result :o)
